This year we have decided to theme our Camp – “The Joys of Ice-Cream” to celebrate the coming of Summer Time!!! Yummy!

Parents can book in for the full week or the days that you require! As always our camps are creative, fun and educational and we love to cherish all children’s interests in our prepared environment, all children are cared for to the highest standard by our childcare practitioners!

So what will we be doing?

What age groups and what are the fees?

Pre-School Camp Session 9:30am – 12:30 noon

School Age Children Groups are 5 years to 8 years and 9 years to 12 years – 9:30 am to 3pm /10 am – 2pm

Later times 4pm /5pm available but separate booking is essential for this service.

M&A’s (Montessori, Music and Art School) is delighted to announce the Creative Easter Camp 2016 which is spread over two weeks of the Easter School break! At M&A’s Easter Camp parents can avail of days which suit them throughout the Easter break and we will ensure that your child/children have lots of fun, make new friends and of course are kept busy in our fun and educational environment.

Whilst the camps are focusing on the celebration of Easter to include Easter Art and Crafts, Easter Egg hunt, games and activities M&A’s will also commemorate the centenary of the 1916 rising and ultimately focus on  remembering  the children who were forgotten and lost their lives during this period in Irish History.

We  aim to celebrate and remember those beautiful children  through Irish song , music, poetry ,drama and the production of a class mural themed “ Children of the rising” this will be an exciting , educational and fun part of our Camp.

What are the daily rates?

Times:
10am – 2pm €15:00 per child
9:30- 3pm – €20:00 per child
9:30- 4:00pm €25:00 per child

Sibling Rates:
10am-2pm €12:50   second child and thereafter

9:30-3pm €15 per second child thereafter

9:30-4:00pm €20:00 per second child thereafter

What does my child need to bring to the camp?

Children to bring a packed lunch – treats and light refreshments provided!

Children to wear comfortable clothing and bring a warm hat/gloves and jacket!

Do I need to do anything prior to the camp?

Parents must fill out an enrollment form which can down loaded from our website and a booking deposit of €30 is required to reserve your child’s place.

M&A’s are fully participating in our healthy eating and emotional well-being programme which we have linked into our Montessori Curriculum. M&A’s are working hard to aim for the BCCN blue flag this May, this will be a great achievement for the school.  Samples of the programmes activities will be left in the reception area for parents to read over in the coming weeks.

Montessori

The Montessori children really had loads of fun with their little Easter egg hunt in the Montessori garden where the children were given clues and little baskets to help them on their hunt. The Easter Tree was left outside for parents to hang their special family ribbon that the teachers made to wish each child’s family happiness and health throughout Easter and all year going forward.

Easter Activity Camp

The Easter Activity Camp was a great success and all the bigger children enjoyed the fun of making lots of Easter crafts and also enjoying their own Easter egg hunt. Children partook in games such as Bingo, dance, Aerobics, Lego workshops and much more…..

Art Classes

And lastly the Art students were also very busy for the end of term completing their Easter Art Cards, this was a special project that took a few weeks to complete, they turned out to be super seasonal and the children loved them!

Our weekly creative classes are held each week, Music (both instrumental and Singing) ,Grinds and Art classes are designed for children to learn in a fun environment . We do not focus on exams as the holistic development of each child is paramount to the schools ethos.

M&A’s would ask that parents spend some time with their children in their music and art homework to ensure support with your child’s learning curve and to sign the Semester Calendar that is provided to your child to ensure parents know the dates of the term.

It was great to have the sun shining so brightly at our Easter Camp this year, this was an added bonus to our fun packed and happy days at camp!

Children of all ages partook in Lego, Art Work, Pot Painting, Puzzles and Design and lots of singing and dancing to name but a few activities!!!!

The younger and older children enjoyed play dough, Junior Lego, painting, colouring ,sticking and gluing along with lots of fun games and activities and the older children enjoyed Lego, learning songs such as “Let it be” from Frozen , “Happy”- by Farrell Williams , “This is Awesome” from the Lego Movie and of course “Mid Night Memories” from One Direction!

All the children enjoyed playing dress up, bistro and boutique shopping games, this proved to be a great success in which children designed their own menus, and shop layout and price list as well as role play of Shop Manager, assistants, customers, waitress/waiter and chef!

This is a great exercise and learning game to help children use their imaginations to explore in make belief, this helps the children with their social skills, language development and problem solving skills!

Children enjoy social  interaction with each other and basically it is so much fun pretending to be adults by playing occupations games but little do the children know how much they are learning from the practicality of every day skills of the grown up!!

As the weather was quite sunny, we got to have a nice picnic outside and of course do lots of exercises and games outside too!

The older children painted and designed their own plant pot and then potted their pots and sowed some lovely seeds, they were taught how to look after their seeds and by ensuring water , heat and sunshine they will have lovely pots of flowers this Summer!

M&A’s had a very busy Spring Term where the Pre School Children in our Montessori enjoyed lots of lovely celebrations to include the change in seasons from Winter to Spring and special days such as Valentines day, Mother’s Day, World Book Week, St. Patricks Day and Easter Time!

For St. Patricks Day all the children were encouraged to dress in green and encouraged to partake in St. Patricks Day fun games and Irish Music and Dance. I played Jigs and Reels for the children and we all partook in a Polka dance which was fun!

We all enjoyed this special green party and it was important to include the Aistear theme of Identity and Belonging and for children to understand as much about their Irish heritage as possible and they are hugely part of this!

We not only celebrated the birth of Spring but some lovely birthdays to include that of Jack, Millie, Rimgo , Sophie and Callum, we had lovely little treats and a small cake in school to celebrate their special day and of course sings songs and games!

For Easter Week, the Montessori children learnt about the beauty of Spring and new growth, they were also looking forward to the visit of Mr Easter Bunny who left lots of lovely treats for the Montessori Children! We finished our term with a little Easter Party, with a lovely story, dance and music movement and Easter Games!

The Art Class children completed their Easter Bunny Silhouette and Easter Egg Craft which involved painting, drawing and some chocolates!!!
