M&A’s is delighted to announce our annual Halloween and Activity Camp, after a busy September all the children are now settled back into Montessori Pre-School and Music and Arts classes, so it is hard to believe that Mid-term Camp is around the corner……

M&A’s will be running its annual . Children will partake in seasonal fun activities to include Halloween Arts and Crafts, Dress up, M&A’s Halloween Disco Dance along with Music, Games and Pumpkin Art.

M&A’s will guarantee to keep your child/children busy and entertained during their mid- term break and parents can choose daily or full week option that best suits their schedule, however pre booking is essential.

Children are to bring a packed lunch as in school and treats and light refreshments will be provided throughout the camp. M&A’s camps allow for the holistic development of each child in the service, please discuss with M&A your child’s interests and additional needs during enrolment.

The Halloween Mid-Term Camp is run from 10am- 2pm and there is a longer session from 9:30am to 3:30pm /9:30am – 4pm. (Family Rates available)

We had a lovely 80’s disco and the children enjoyed learning all about this era as well as traditional and modern Irish music. We also discovered French culture and learned some French language and then we ended our Creative Summer School with our fashion shop and a fashion show in which children could dress up and walk the catwalk! Ohh la la….

M&A’s would like to thank all parents for sending their children to us this summer and we wish all the children a happy return to school.

M&A Montessori September 2015

M&A’s Montessori is resuming on Thursday the 3^rd of September ,  we are really looking forward to seeing all the little children starting their educational journey with us, we would like to wish all the children that finished in the Montessori in June lots of love and happiness in starting big school.

M&A After School Club, Tullamore

M&A’s Ltd is delight to announce the launch of their After School Club for this coming September. Children will be welcomed by caring staff after their busy day in school as is the ethos of M&A’s. We will ensure that the holistic development of each child in our care is paramount to each child’s after school experience.

The after school option is a small and intimate club so children will feel relaxed in the creative and bright environment , allowing each child to ‘chillax’ after a long day of school, children will be cared for by M&A’s caring and highly trained childcare staff.

Children will be provided with a calm and relaxing environment with a choice of play activities to end their day at school. Children will receive help and support in their homework activities (if desired).

M&A’s is part of the BCCN healthy schools programme, Children will be given an afterschool snack to include many healthy and tasty food options. (Further details on request)

At M&A’s we like to run various educational and creative classes as detailed below also are details of our Play Therapy and Speech and Language Services that we run as part of our extended service.

The Expressive Child

Marie Kinahan is a local Play Therapist, she have recently set up a practice in M & A’s Montessori since January 2015!

Play Therapy

Marie offers individual and group Play Therapy sessions with children and adolescents. Play Therapy supports children to communicate and express themselves through play. In Play Therapy, Marie works through a variety of play mediums: using art, drama, music, play, sand and storytelling. Play Therapy assists children to explore and make sense of difficult life events. Play Therapy promotes self- esteem, creativity, concentration, imagination and problem solving skills with children.

Social Skills and Play Skills Programmes

Marie offers Social Skills and Play Skills programmes for children between the ages of 3-12 years. The programme offers an integrated approach of Therapeutic Play skills to enhance children’s play and social skills. Marie incorporates a range of play mediums in the programmes.

 Speech and Language Therapy

M&A’s works closely with Katharine Bulbulia who offers a friendly, client-centred approach to Speech and Language Therapy. Katherine is also trained in the Montessori Method and prior to training as an SLT she worked in the Early Childhood sector for 15 years in a variety of settings.

Katharine uses her Montessori knowledge to enhance her advice, assessment and intervention when working with children, teenagers and adults experiencing speech, language and communication difficulties.

Katharine also lectures in Montessori and Early Years Education in a Private College in Dublin.

Katharine is happy to discuss your speech, language and communication needs.

M&A’s are fully participating in our healthy eating and emotional well-being programme which we have linked into our Montessori Curriculum. M&A’s are working hard to aim for the BCCN blue flag this May, this will be a great achievement for the school.  Samples of the programmes activities will be left in the reception area for parents to read over in the coming weeks.

Montessori

The Montessori children really had loads of fun with their little Easter egg hunt in the Montessori garden where the children were given clues and little baskets to help them on their hunt. The Easter Tree was left outside for parents to hang their special family ribbon that the teachers made to wish each child’s family happiness and health throughout Easter and all year going forward.

Easter Activity Camp

The Easter Activity Camp was a great success and all the bigger children enjoyed the fun of making lots of Easter crafts and also enjoying their own Easter egg hunt. Children partook in games such as Bingo, dance, Aerobics, Lego workshops and much more…..

Art Classes

And lastly the Art students were also very busy for the end of term completing their Easter Art Cards, this was a special project that took a few weeks to complete, they turned out to be super seasonal and the children loved them!

Our weekly creative classes are held each week, Music (both instrumental and Singing) ,Grinds and Art classes are designed for children to learn in a fun environment . We do not focus on exams as the holistic development of each child is paramount to the schools ethos.

M&A’s would ask that parents spend some time with their children in their music and art homework to ensure support with your child’s learning curve and to sign the Semester Calendar that is provided to your child to ensure parents know the dates of the term.

This October we will be keeping all the children both young and old very busy with our new programme for the Mid – Term Break!

The Halloween Camp caters for children of Pre School Age up to 6th class in Primary School, Parents who need to work this Mid- Term or who just want to get their children involved in fun, educational based activities  then M&A’s is the place to go…..

What do I pack for my child/children?

Parents are required to pack a healthy lunch, a warm coat and hat /Scarf /Gloves (weather Permitting) – We will provide treats and light refreshments.

How much does the camp cost?

We have broken the camp into daily rates please see below:

• 10am- 2pm camp costs €15:00 per day for first child and €10 per day for second and third child
• 9:30am- 3pm camp cost €20:00 per day per child and €12:50 per day for the second and third child!

It is suggested that Parents pre book in advance in order to secure a place!

Yes we are very delighted to announce after a long year of planning and organising that M&A’s has reached the point where we can announce our move to our permanent home to Unit 28 Axis Business park Tullamore!

We are not moving very far but we are very delighted with the recent news that our plans to move to Unit 28 have finally finalised and after a few more weeks we will be all settled in our new home!

Our facility will still remain bright and spacious but we are thrilled to announce even further room for our Montessori which will be a full downstairs facility!

Our new Music and Art rooms promise to be very exciting and the children will be thrilled with their new rooms!

Opening Evening Saturday 14th June 2014

We are delighted to announce our open evening on Saturday the 14^th of June from 2pm-4pm which parents can come and check out the new facility and meet the team at M&A’s. We will have details on hand about the Montessori and Summer School and various other activities we cater for at the facility!

We are also show casing our new modern toilet facilities and out door play area and Montessori garden and we also have lots more parking for our parents!

If you can make our open day we would be delighted, we will have light refreshments and treats on hand, we would be trilled if you could join us on our open day and celebrate us moving into our new home!

We are also running Primary School Grinds on Monday and Wednesday afternoons to help children who may have difficulty in certain subjects and just needs that little bit of help!

It was great to have the sun shining so brightly at our Easter Camp this year, this was an added bonus to our fun packed and happy days at camp!

Children of all ages partook in Lego, Art Work, Pot Painting, Puzzles and Design and lots of singing and dancing to name but a few activities!!!!

The younger and older children enjoyed play dough, Junior Lego, painting, colouring ,sticking and gluing along with lots of fun games and activities and the older children enjoyed Lego, learning songs such as “Let it be” from Frozen , “Happy”- by Farrell Williams , “This is Awesome” from the Lego Movie and of course “Mid Night Memories” from One Direction!

All the children enjoyed playing dress up, bistro and boutique shopping games, this proved to be a great success in which children designed their own menus, and shop layout and price list as well as role play of Shop Manager, assistants, customers, waitress/waiter and chef!

This is a great exercise and learning game to help children use their imaginations to explore in make belief, this helps the children with their social skills, language development and problem solving skills!

Children enjoy social  interaction with each other and basically it is so much fun pretending to be adults by playing occupations games but little do the children know how much they are learning from the practicality of every day skills of the grown up!!

As the weather was quite sunny, we got to have a nice picnic outside and of course do lots of exercises and games outside too!

The older children painted and designed their own plant pot and then potted their pots and sowed some lovely seeds, they were taught how to look after their seeds and by ensuring water , heat and sunshine they will have lovely pots of flowers this Summer!
